So here is my plan.

I'm moving to Italy.

Ask me about it, because I'm too tired to write much more! I'll write out a detailed explanation in my next blog.

Also, for Spring Break, I'm road trippin to Texas. Where in Texas you may ask? I DON'T EVEN KONW! AND IT DON'T MATTA'! We'll be trekkin and questin the southern states this next week. A few of my buddies and I have this tradition every SB (or any break) to just pick a random direction or state and just head out. No plan. No worries. Just drive and live. Last year, we ended up in Myrtle Beach, SC. I'll be bring my camera(s) of course to do some documenting. It's gonna be so so so very good. I'm gonna try an Avedon type shot and haul around some white backdrop paper and some ducktape - and gonna photo the lo-cals. I'm uber stoke right now. Hopefully, it will all go well. All I know is that I plan on sleeping in the desert and howlin with the coyotes. I'll be posting some journey pics ASAP.

DP and I started a photo club at Andrews this year. We'll be having our second meeting on March 26 at Harrigan Amphitheater @ 6. Come out. We also are having THE RADDEST t-shirts made right now and should be ready by after break! Look out, i'll be uploading graphics on Facebook soon. And i'll throw them up here!

It's been hectic. Lately, I've been uber busy with school. It's ridic.
Tuesday night this week, I stayed up through the night....and through the morning...and through the day, getting projects done and delivered. I didn't go to bed until 7pm yesterday night. I was up almost two whole days. I was a mess

But this morning, I didn't get up until ten. Then I had to take a test, beh.

ONE TASTEFUL TASTE, IF

If I could taste one taste. One single concentrated taste. And it makes me dive deep into subconscious thought processes. I lie down on soft orange peels and am sheltered by knitted grape vines with baby fresh leaves still on it. Robust wrapped riches. An even valence of protons, neutrons, electrons. It's pinch is like punch of fine harvested rosso Italian wine. Vino. Vino. Vino. One adrenaline filled gulp of reaction reacting to the action of tasting nirvana. The vast reason between the slides of monochromaticism compared to vibrant colour could not savor any one taste. Like the first time listening to Pachabel Canyon. Nestled. Vivacious. A basket weaved of independence and novelty, braided together from the base down, but left open at the bottom. One finely detailed objective flavor in perfect lighting and in perfect temperature. It has the perfect feel and the perfect texture. No crumbs. No gashes. No blobs. No mashes. It has senses keener than bats ears or a gazelle's eyes. You don't only experience it, it experiences you. If I could taste one taste, it would be of...

THREE PART HIRED

So I just got off the phone with one of my close friends, CF, whose family is hiring me to shoot a three part B&W series of the beach in winter to add to their living room decor. I'm super psyched to do it because I've never been asked to do something like this. They wanted something original on their walls because they didn't want to buy replicas from the outlet. I find that original artwork has much more intrinsic value than blown up replicas on canvas. I love the fact that my art will be hung up on foreign walls in a familiar home. Everytime I visit, I will be proud to say that I have my work on this family's walls. I'll shoot film first and print on the photo paper. And I'll probably shoot digital too for comparison.

I will post up the three part when I am done.

Yelle. French hip-hop artist. A Cause de Garcons ("Because of Boys"). This is a remix. Her music always gives me a hype. Even though I don't understand most of what she is saying! These guys in the video are so punk'd with their tight pants, mullets, specs, fanny pack and neon asics. These kind of moves are called "Tecktonic" dancing. Apparently, it's french made. This concept is one of my goals to learn next year while I'm abroad. When I come back, I will party at a whole new level. So be ready! The second video, Je veux te voir ("I want to see you"), makes me happy. I wish everyone danced and party like that.

Je suis content. Beaucoup de personnes veulent que je prends leurs fotos! Je peux construire ma brochure. En fait, j'ai un travail de photo demain. C'est pour deux soeurs qui veulent donner des fotos a leurs parents. Aussi, je suis content parce que mon ami, TW, entendu que je suis un bon fotographe de d'autres. Et il habite en California !

Man, that took me forever to write. And I don't know if it's right. I'm trying to keep frequent with my French over break. I've been using my book from class. Hopefully by the end of the year, I'll be able to speak somewhat good enough to hold a decent length conversation. But by the end of next school year, I WILL be able to hold very lengthy conversations as I will in France! I don't remember if I blogged about it before, but I am going to France for school. I will blog about it later. For now, I am going to chow down on some de-lish dishes.

I'm looking to do a few shoots for some side projects this semester. Here are some pictures that are similar to what I'm thinking of..........

Four series. Different poses. Blue/cold, desaturated. Model wearing long white dress. Blonde or light blond. Maybe redhead. Wedding like dress. Similar lighting. Maybe more motion blur.

Two series. Face and body shot. Use a rad patterned blanket. Similar lighting. Similar pose. Model with make-up makeover. Two other people standing up on sides to hold up blanket. Not nakey. Post-production desaturated. Cold balance.

Single shot. Color or B&W. Similar lighting. Instead of trees, many hands. Model should have very long hair. Brunette. Make up. Wearing jewelry. Or not.

Two series. Far and up close shots. B&W. Different lighting. Model wearing dress instead. Smoking. Similar position. Add film grain.

Maybe a three series. B&W. Very clean vintage wardrobe. Far, close, and super close shots. Smoking or drink in hand. Similar lighting. Soft box maybe. Soft light.

A series of eight. Maybe fruit or something cool like that. The model would have a full make-up makeover for the shoot. Similar lighting. Not nakey. Or nakey. Grey backdrop.

I definitely won't get all these shoots done, but want to get as many as I can. For other photogs, let me know if you have any good ideas on how to shoot it. For people interested in modeling for me, message me on Facebook.

ONION SHOOT

For my six part final for Color class, I decided to shoot portraits similar to that of Jill Greenburg's "crying baby" series. I went for a consult with my teacher, Dave, and he told me to look at her site {www.manipulator.com} to see how she shot the kids. The story behind her "crying baby" series is that she would bring young infants into studio, give them lollipops or candy........then yank them out of their months until they cried! Sounds harsh, but the opputunities came great. You can really see their soul scream in their eyes and facial expressions, especially.
J.G does some heavy photoshoping in her photos and uses particular lighting, which I like for the most part. I would light the kids slightly different however. Back to my six part. So for the shoot, I wanted to shoot simple portraits of people crying by having them react to the cutting of onions to the face. It turns out that, the red onions I ended up using, were not as strong to the models as I thought they would be. But my models, were real hardcore and voluntarily took the onion pieces and rubbed it in their own eyes! I was pretty psyched. My models are rad. Here are six champ-i-o-n-s.

This last weekend over Fall break, I built my own studio set up. I pretty much bought a bunch of PVC pipe and joints, cut and put them together. I went into Jo-Ann Fabrics and bought a roll of burlap for my backdrop. I borrowed some lights and equipment and set up. I had a few of my friends come model for me. Ayako Miyata was one of them. These are a few shots I produced. I'll post more up of my other models after I work on them next week!

LIFE UPDATE. GOOD VS. BAD

So it's about a little over a month into school and my karma has
been fluxuating. I actually don't believe in karma at all, but for the sake of wasting time to google synonyms for the word, I will play along with.

+ I'm only taking 4 classes this semester, 3 at AU and 1 at LMC. 3 of 4 of my classes are 4.00 credit classes. I love all my classes because they're all interesting enough to me to put my full effort into. My color photo class, in particular, takes up most of my time. And i love every second of it. I came to the conclusion that this if this is what i'm going to do with my life, I can't half-ass things and gotta go balls out otherwise i'm effed in the real life. So, i've found my love for art greatly increase over the several months.

+ I finally replaced my cracked windshield on my car.

+ I now own 1 motorcycle, 3 mopeds.

+ I've met a lot of new people. My goal this year is to network with 50 people before 09. I'm on the way to success.

- I don't have a job = I have no money = I have to mooch or come up with elaborate plans to get money.

- I ddidn't end up moving into that house.

- My bike doesn't run most of the time.

- I have a horrible work environment at home.

- It is hard to find time to devote to music.

- Some bad habits are lingering about again.

- I'm not studying enough and getting lazy.

- My personal lifestyle choices are imbalanced thus causing
confusion of purpose.

THE INSTITUTION

Once again, school starts again.
I am not financially cleared yet and it is the Thursday before it begins.
I am jobless, but am hoping to be employed soon.
I am going to move into a house apartment but have no money. I'll probably use student loans.
I have a huge mustache and scruff.
I need to take a shower real bad.
I have a bunch of photo work that needs to be done. Gotta work son!

SUNDAY LAZY RIVER TUBING

So good. Five souls floated down the St. Joe river today on cheap Wal-Mart brand inflatable mattresses and one actual-purpose Sea Doo tube. Long, daring, cold, creature depthed and lazy journey. It took 3 hours to reach point "A", fishing port next to Daybreak, to point "B", Beaver Point/Andrews University. Along carried with us was a cooler full of goods! We potlucked on the way. Ruben and I found some sweet high spots on tree trunks to jump of off. A plan to camp on one of the islands was introduced and will be executed before summer! Lazy river tubing is the best. It was such a good way to spend a Sunday. Once I develop my film, pictures will be up!
